yin yoga

Yin is a gentle yet intense way to help bring about a profound state of relaxation. A much slower and more passive practice, it cultivates a deep sense of awareness through the release of mind and body stresses.

Postures are practised mostly recumbent, in a static approach and are held for between 2-6 minutes, directly targeting deep connective tissues and improving the health and mobility of joints.

In yin yoga, we gently coax ourselves to stillness. We pause and invite introspection. Cultivating our yin energy to counterbalance our fast-paced “yang” daily lives, we find release, unblocking energy pathways and creating the conditions for optimum health to arise.

“I love my weekly Yin class with Lucy. She is a superb teacher and her classes are the perfect balance of nurturing and calming, but also full of deep, therapeutic stretching and all of this, infused with a bit of gentle philosophy!”
